TheMadJW wrote :Jo-jo, mankind and men are synonyms. Get a life.
Indeed but not "lowliest one of mankind" , don't you know your JW theology? this refers to Jesus (not).
e.g - strongest one of mankind, fattest one of mankind, richest one of mankind, they are all singular.
Take out the "one" and it becomes plural
New American Standard Bible (©1995)
"This sentence is by the decree of the angelic watchers And the decision is a command of the holy ones, In order that the living may know That the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind, And bestows it on whom He wishes And sets over it the lowliest of men."King James Bible
This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.American King James Version

Why Did Jesus Suffer?
by leavingwt inif i want to forgive someone, it's not necessary for me to punish anyone.
it makes absolutely no sense to me, why an almighty, loving god would punish his son, for an offense that someone else committed.
here is what some others to have to say on the topic.

After King Acrisius sent Danae and Perseus away from Argos, they came to a land where the king collected wives and he wanted Danae as a wife, but she refused, so he sent soilders out after her(After what must seem like the millionth time of asking her to Danae) And Perseus beat them up and sent them back and told them to tell the King she would marry who she wanted, so the King, (Obviously being really mad At Perseus) Wanted Perseus killed so he told him to go and kill Medusa thinking he would be killed, But he got the head as asked and brought it to Athena (And Yes King Acrisius was killed by Perseus like in the prophecy) That is why he cut Medusa's head off.

Yes, they also have Dan4:17 "lowliest one of mankind" (JW lingo referring to Jesus) while all other bibles and original text has lowliest of men(plural)
